Conloo was born out of the Governments sanitation policy to replace steel fabricated top structures to precast ones in 2005. In response to this change in specification policy, we developed a precast top structure which was light weight user friendly and of fasttrack construction.
As a result of Governments rapid requirements to provide basic dignity to all its unserviced citizens, Conloo set up 8 precast factories from 2008 to 2013 in KwaZulu Natal and Eastern Cape to respond to this requirement and in so doing created 900 jobs opportunities in these rural areas. Our products remain competitive in price and are flexible in being adapted to dry, urine diversion and pout flush back end solution. We also pride ourselves with offering a quality product which can be delivered promptly to contractor’s yards or directly to households.
We lately have also provided fasttrack solutions for school sanitation with dry, urine diversion and pour flush solutions.

We finally keep abreast of new innovations in this field and are always flexible in meeting the client’s specific requirements.

BOTTOM STRUCTURE
- The type of pit lining depends on site conditions to be assessed by the engineer on site.
- Ferrocement lining to be constructed by first applying a single 20mm thick layer of mortar. Fixing wiremesh with 50mm spacing onto this layer and then applying a 20mm layer of mortar over this layer.
- Brick lining consists of M140 concrete blocks. Vertical joint openings in every third block and galvanised brickforce every second course.
- Note that no openings are permitted within the first 500m of lining below ground level.
- All concrete precast items to be 35mpa.
- All other concrete applications to be 25mpa.
- Mortar shall be 5 parts sand to 1 part cement.
- Mortar to be dry mixed until a uniform colour and whole turned until thoroughly and evenly mixed.
- Mortar shall be freshly mixed and mortar which has begun to set shall not be used.
